The Pylon Floor Lamp was a “napkin sketch” for a one-off charitable project. Pylon turned out to be a customer favorite.
The stick built construction and absence of angled braces leave the drum shade in charge of rigidity. The legs play double duty, outlining the skeletal column, and harnessing the spiderless drum shade. A lowlying disc ensures the vertical stability of the lamp. Large machine screws connect the framework lending an unexpected hint of industrial style.
Artist: Mike Scribner
Dimensions: 16” x 60”
Materials: Walnut, maple, cherry stain
